Terms and Conditions
The following Terms & Conditions are an integral part of any agreement when making a booking with PJ The Showman.
1. A booking is only confirmed when a Signed, Printed & Dated agreement is returned by the booker/management within 48 hours of engagement or when any agreed deposit is paid by the booker/management within 48 hrs of engagement.
The artist reserves the right to accept other offers of employment if one or both of the above, is not fulfilled.
The fee agreed includes any Booking Fee.
2. Any payments paid are non-refundable unless, see section 4.
3. Cancellations must be made in writing, only. Telephone Cancellations are not accepted for obvious reasons.
Cancellation fee policy is as follows:
0-45 Days prior to event = 96% of full fee.
46 Days plus, prior to event = 65% of full fee. Any cancellation fees not paid within 7 days of invoice date will incur interest at 5% per day thereafter.
4. If the entertainer(s) is unable to fulfil the engagement through illness or accident, he/she must make contact immediately with the management. The management may request any such proof. On the rare occasion where the entertainer(s) cancels the contract any deposits or prepayments will be refunded to the management within 7 days.
5. Any cancellation must be by mutual consent only.
6. Two adults (21 +) must be in the venue at all times during the performance. See also clause 17.
7. The entertainer(s) is not responsible for delays in access to the venue or performing area & for any power failure beyond his/her control. If the venue is not on the ground floor, extra time may be required to set up. The booker/management must inform the entertainer(s) if extra time may be needed. In the unlikely event the entertainer(s) are delayed from starting a performance due to events beyond the entertainer(s) control, the booker/management is still liable for the full fee.
8. Responsibility will not be accepted by the entertainer(s), for damage to guests/audience or their belongings if guests/audience interferes with any of the entertainer’s equipment; however every attempt to safeguard is assured. The management within 14 days of performance must pay all damages to any props incurred by personnel during the period of contract.
9. Where the performance is an open-air event, the management is responsible for the safeguard of the entertainer(s) and any equipment. The entertainer(s) is not responsible for the weather. The entertainer(s) has the right to withdraw from a performance due to weather. In this case the booker/management is still liable to the full fee. The entertainer’s decision is final.
10. The entertainer(s) are responsible for their own Income Taxes & NI.
11. Payment of any balance on the day is required unless otherwise agreed. Failure to pay on time will increase your fee by 5% as a late payment charge.
12. The entertainer(s) will not perform within 60 metres of any inflatable device i.e.: Bouncy Castle/inflatable’s.
13. To avoid any possible damage to entertainer’s equipment discard of any footballs, balloons or such like apparatus while performer is in attendance.
14. The booker/management is responsible for the artists parking costs during the performance, set up/set down time and whilst at the venue, but not fixed penalty notices or fines. Minimum parking 4 hrs.
15. The artist reserves the right to sell merchandise before, during or after the event.
16.1 The entertainer will not be liable for any inconvenience or loss of revenue caused by the following: Act of God, Terrorism, Fire, Explosion, Fog, Flood, Regional or National Pandemics, Theft or Malicious Damage, Road Traffic / Accidents or any other events caused, beyond the entertainer’s control. In these circumstances, no refund will be made. A Gesture of goodwill may be offered at the discretion of the Entertainer.
16.2 In the event of a Pandemic all Regional and/or National Government guidelines must be followed by both parties.
17. The artist has, in the last ten years, obtained a CRB/DBS check. It is not a legal requirement for entertainers to have a CRB/DBS, but please feel free to ask if you would like a more recent check, a charge may apply.

18. All entertainment material purely aimed at ages 4yrs upwards. The service is for Entertainment only and not childcare.
