Homemade Fitness Fun
Children love to get active and you don't necessary need a garden to get your child into the fun of fitness. Repurpose some everyday items and you have your own cost effective little gym. It's a fun way for children to burn off some energy.

Hand Weights
Used plastic soda or cordial bottles are a great way for some bicep pumping, standing or sitting. Fill the bottles with Water at various levels for different weight levels. The Children not only have the fitness activity, but can get crafty too by adding some colour with a touch of food colouring or wrap with some coloured sticky tape for decoration.
Tightrope Balance
Regular rope or even some string make a line for children to balance walk. why not add a cushion or napkin to the fun, by challenging the family not to drop the cushion or napkin from their head as the walk the line.
Tunnels
Cardboard boxes are perfect for crawling under.
Parachute
An old bed sheet with a dozen coloured balloons on the top. Set a time, for example 30 seconds to shake off as many balloons as possible by waiving the parachute. The whole family can play this high energy game.
Skittles
The cardboard core of a toilet roll can be used as skittles. The children could decorate these a few days before their first use. Paint them multi colours or decorate with glitter. The Ball: Use a pair of socks rolled into a ball.
Balloon Tennis
A simple game with a balloon and paper plates. Use cushions or string as the net.
Freeze Bop
When the music stops, the Children have to stay in a position for 30 seconds. Ideas for a freeze include, stand on one leg, balance on your bottom, stay in the plank position........
